Finding the Damara Rockrunner or Rockjumper

This secretive bird is probably more common than one thinks, it's simply a master at not being seen.

At Huab Lodge & BushSPA in Namibia it skulks in the sedges,  the salvadora, the dead leaves.

With a great deal of patience and luck and by carefully observing its behaviour and getting to understand how it works, you can get really great views and pictures.

This bird is endemic to north western Namibia and can readily been seen at Huab Lodge & BushSPA.  It has an extremely varied repertoire of warbling song and harsh churrs and a tumbling trill which sometimes sounds a bit like a tchagra.
